Turn ʼn Tender Steakhouse The Verge in Edenvale

"We went to here last night for my fiancé’s birthday dinner. I booked the reservation online with ease and we were seated inside in such a wonderful place that everyone was comfortable with(we were a party of 8). The seats are extremely comfortable inside. Our waiter Nelson was so polite and attentive. We were very impressed with how well run the restaurant is. The food was delicious and satisfied us all. We got an array of starters for the table which were snails, squid heads, calamari tubes, halloumi and crumbed mushrooms which were all delicious. For mains the entire table got the steak and chips special for R209.99 which consisted of a 300g rump steak (with or without fat) cooked to your liking with a side of chips and a sauce (cheese, mushroom, bluecheese ect.) and basting (bbq or pepper) of your choice. For dessert I got the bar one baked cheesecake, which was so good! The birthday boy got free ice cream topped with a blueberry sauce and a sparkle and of course the lovely waiters sang to him. Thank you for such a memorable dinner, we will most certainly be back. And thank you for making my fiancé’s birthday a really special one. "

"Food was well prepared, vegetables tasted fresh and well prepared, although not well presented and portions seemed out of place on the oversized serving plates. The atmosphere feels a bit crowded and it got a little loud, staff were very knowledgeable on their offerings and pairings. Overall: Tasty and tender food, portion size fair, presentation poor considering the high end price tag."

"We visited Turn ‘n Tender at The Verge Shopping Centre several times now and every single time we walk out with big smiles and happy hearts. The centre is currently glowing with stunning Christmas lights, giving the whole place a magical, festive charm. I just love this time of year, when life starts to slow down, Christmas lights pop up everywhere and the holiday spirit fills the air. We were absolutely starving, so we skipped starters and dived straight into the mains. I’m a creature of habit and usually go for a 200g fillet steak (something I never treat myself to at home!) Our amazing waitress recommended I take the special instead, bigger, cheaper and served with crispy chips and a rich, delicious mushroom sauce. It was an easy yes! I paired it with a bowl of veggies, butternut, creamed spinach and cabbage. My partner ordered a juicy cheeseburger with veggies, chips and a pepper sauce and everything looked and tasted fantastic. My fillet was unbelievably tender and full of flavour, the knife slid through it effortlessly. The burger was just as impressive, tasty, generous, and cooked perfectly. To end off on an even sweeter note, we had a Kahlua Dom Pedro and a bowl of ice cream, simple, classic and always a favourite. It was such a wonderful evening and honestly, Turn ‘n Tender at The Verge continues to be one of our absolute favourite dinner spots. We can’t wait for our next visit!"

"The meat is absolutely amazing! And their prices are surprisingly good, despite the awesome food. It's still an upper-market restaurant, but it more than delivers and is well worth the cost! I highly recommend it."

"Lovely dinner at Turn n Tender Illovo. Was greeted at the door by the owner at 8pm. And its obviously an owner run restaurant as everything runs like clockwork Wasnt too busy as still early January, but enough patrons to be vibey. Classy decor and clean restaurant. Booth and table seating options. They've enclosed ann area for smallish private functions too. Service was friendly and efficient. And quick. Food was hot and delicious from a wide menu choice. Turn n Tender Illovo has been around for as long as I can remember, but hasn't aged (with its constant upgrades). Unisex toilets are chic are were spotless BTW - can see restaurant is woman-run. Special mention to the friendly waiters. We were last to leave and they were all so engaging. Well done for keeping up your standards Turn n Tender Illovo"

"Absolutely wonderful experience, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Very comfortable seats with enough space between tables. Wine selections are great with a variety of options. There are also a bunch of different cocktails (non-alcoholic options are available) and I'll happily recommend the long island iced tea, not too strong and not too sweet. The food was delicious, I had the steak and calamari combo and it was awesome. My steak was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth soft. Many at our table ordered starters instead of dessert and they loved them, from crumbed mushrooms to chicken livers and also grilled calamari. I opted for dessert and it was a very good choice. The cheesecake was beautifully creamy with a nice thin base and a decadent bar-one sauce ontop. We will definitely be back!"
